I need take a break from drawing

Posted by Izzymancers - 5 hours ago

Like because people are mad over my art on my TikTok comments and also someone put me on this group chat that has a homophobic and racist name on TikTok so I had to leave this group chat. Like why did the people hated me as a beginner artist for no reason...

Why not take a break from TikTok rather than drawing? Unless, it is actual criticism and not baseless comment on your act, why care? Social media is fueled on hate, so I'm not surprised at all. You'll either have to deal with it or take a break. Hone your craft while you're away from TikTok.

First of all, leave the group if you haven't already and block the losers. Keep drawing, if you still love it. Don't abandon a hobby like drawing just because others are being negative and toxic.

The problem lies within the people itself. You're new and vulnerable and they could be projecting their own securities on art onto you. People fear what they don't understand. Understand that.

The way I understand your situation from the way you describe it... My advice to you is: "What @SlaveOnAStick already said!" ♥

If somebody is a homophobe and a racist, you can be 100% sure that they are an idiot!

That there are shitty people on this planet should not discourage you from expressing yourself through your art. Drawing is a skill that requires enormous amounts of practice. Sure: Having hands fit for a surgeon, lots of patience, observation skills, and some good guidance/tutorials will help you to progress faster, but _nobody_starts_out_at_the_top_.
I'm not saying you shouldn't look for ways to improve, but if somebody says something along the lines of "you draw bad" without giving you pointers, that comments says more about them than it does about you.

Also: TikTok "probably" has a way to report people who harass you. Not only will doing so show them that they cannot just push you around, it will also protect others. (...To a degree. AFAIK, creating an account there is still free, but if they lose their accounts on a regular basis, it would be hard for them to gather much of a following.)
